TOKYO(AFP).-The researchershave achieveda breakthroughin communicationandquantumcomputingusing ateleportermachine.This breakthroughis theteleportationfor thefirst timeby sendinga set ofquantum informationfrom onepoint to another.The findingsopen theway for thetransmissionspeed andhigh accuracyfroma largecollection ofinformation,such asquantumencryptionkeythrougha quantumcommunicationnetwork.The research is publishedin theApril issue ofthe journal"Science".
Teleportationis thetransfer ofquantum informationfrom onelocation to anotherusing acommunication"classic" normal,teleportationis one of thefundamentalquantumcommunicationtechniques.
ProfessorElanorHuntington,of the Schoolof Engineering andInformation Technologyon the campus ofUNSWCanberra,AustralianDefenceAcademy(ADFA),is partofateamled byresearchersat TokyoUniversity.Hesaid theachievements ofthisteamis a step tobuildasuper-powerfulquantumcomputersandtransmittingquantuminformation.
