Google Inc. reported begin to launch its own television service in Europe in early 2012. This is expressed by the chief executive, Eric Schmidt, said Reuters on Sunday (08/28/2011).
Google TV service that allows users to access the web and television content through a browser on the TV screen, has actually been introduced in the United States since late last year. Unfortunately, these services do not receive a warm welcome to initial expectations. Even a number of popular U.S. television NBC, CBS and Fox to block these services.
The three networks, as well as several other names in television and telecommunications industry, did not want Google to "steal" their participation in advertising revenue without contributing to the creation of the program.
"Some U.S. worry, we will compete with broadcasters and content creators. In fact just the opposite of our goals," said Schmidt.
"We want to support the content industry through an open platform for the generation of a new TV to continue to grow as Android becomes open platform for mobile future," he said.
"Hopefully, Google TV could be released in Europe early next year," Schmidt said.
