Survive 438 Days on 'Mars' By 99.908.667 USD

Six cosmonauts from Russia, Italy, France and China, managed to break the record for staying the longest space mission in a simulated landing on Mars of 438 days.

Using the "plane" called Mars500, surviving on granola bars and pasta and minimal contact with family and relatives. This simulation was conducted at the Institute of Biomedical Moscow, Russia, and last approximately 17 months. The plan, the mission will end when the day 520.

If the last full up to 520 days, then each receive U.S. $ 100 million (Rp853 billion). However, until Sunday, August 14, 2011 local time, six and broke the record in the 438 days that had been held real cosmonaut Valeri Polyakov.

For more information, Polyakov is the record holder for endurance in space by spending 437 days orbiting the Earth in 1995.

During 438 days, the six astronauts feel like life on Mars with the natural conditions are adjusted to the original. The cosmonauts worked on a volume of enclosed space of 550 cubic meters, without windows, and are observed by doctors and psychologists.

From The Australian, August 15, 2011, each astronaut has a small bed, a desk and a pair of underpants. There was no bathroom in the simulation space. To clean themselves into a room like a sauna room and use paper towels to wash all the dirt.

Although only a simulation, the experiment was hailed by Polyakov as a cosmonaut who was never really into outer space. "Now is not the time to calculate how much time has passed, but how much time is left. This (simulation) have a positive effect," Polyakov said.

The six cosmonauts involved three of them from Russia, that is, Aleksandr Smoleevskiy, Sukhrob Sitev Kamolov and Aleksi. And the other three are Diego Urbina (Italy), Wang Yue (China), and Romain Charles (France).

Could 'Jurassic Park' Being Real?

The more rapid progress of science and technology now allows scientists to raise the claim that dinosaurs like 'Jurassic Park' cinema box office 18 years ago.

However, it was rejected by scientists. Evaluate the story in the film adaptation of Michael Crichton's novel is impossible.

In the novel and film, the dinosaurs resurrected after a group of archaeologists have found fossils of mosquitoes that DNA from the blood of dinosaurs that scientists could develop these ancient creatures to put in the alligator embryo.

Scientists say that is impossible, the article of the DNA molecule is destroyed over time. Paleontologists from Montana State University and advisor throughout the film Jurassic Park Jack Horner explained that after 500 thousand years, rarely does the DNA remains intact. Meanwhile, since the dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years.

Horner said, although he and some colleagues had discovered soft tissue in Tyrannosaurus rex in 2005, there has never been scientists who discovered the dinosaur DNA.

"The soft tissue was prepared by biomolecules instead of DNA," Horner said, quoted by LiveScience, Sunday (14/08/2011).

In fact, Horner continued, if one day the DNA of dinosaurs were discovered, its composition has been damaged, making it very difficult for scientists to 'sew' back to the DNA.

Although he could not revive the dinosaurs, human beings can "create" dinosaurs like creatures. In recent years, several groups of scientists are working to make the reports, the characteristics of the dinosaurs in the chicken.

Directed by Horner, a group of scientists hopes to grow a chicken that has teeth, claws and tail, or "dinosaur chicken", after finding the mutant embryos in the chickens of 2005.

New Investigations About Mystery Dinosaurs

Knowledge of dinosurus has captivated audiences for decades. However, a new exhibition in the United States (U.S.), aims untu shows that there are still many secrets about the giant reptiles that are still unclear.

Area of 1,300 square meters has been allocated to the museum galleries in Los Angeles history, natural miniature arranged for the museum's opening is scheduled for July 16 and is presented as an important step in improving the museum before anniversary of the 100 in 2013.

The gallery will feature nearly 300 fossil skeletons of 20, together with the signals in the details that may explain some of the questions of the experts, like the dinosaurs ate, how they reproduce, and why they disappeared?

"The emphasis is on how we know what we know. This is science. We know a lot about dinosaurs, but little is known about them." Said Luis Chiappe, curator in chief who heads the institute dinosaur museum, told The Straits Times on Tuesday (12/07/2011).

Exposure from specimens to illustrate how scientists ask questions and sometimes answer is in part designed to respond to the surprise of visitors who have been watching dinosaurs on TV and film.

"Turning on the television and watch some documentaries on dinosaurs, make you feel as if they knew all about him and did not. There are so many things we need to know," Chiappe cover.

Last Dinosaur Fossil Proven Dead Due to Asteroids

A fossil dinosaur horn one of the last living proof that a large meteorite attack killed the entire species of dinosaurs.

Quoted by the Daily Mail on Friday (15/07/2011), the fossil is 45 cm long horn horned dinosaurs that are owned horned dinosaur Triceratops. The fossil was discovered in a geological site known as the Hell Creek Formation in an uninhabited land in southeastern Montana, United States (U.S.), where the previously found fossils of dinosaurs have been many others.

Something that makes it interesting is the discovery of this fossil is only 13 cm below the layers of rock. This is the most superficial of fossil discoveries in the history of fossil fuels consumed by the search for the excavation of up to tens of meters, much less is a dinosaur fossil.

This indicates that the last dinosaurs disappeared from Earth's civilization. While scientists believe that dinosaurs and then disappear quickly after a global catastrophe with a rock attack asteroid to Earth in those days.

"This discovery provides evidence that dinosaurs did not die slowly before the meteorite hit," said Dr. Tyler Lyson, of Yale University in New Haven.

"The fact that this issue was so close to the border showed that at least some dinosaurs were doing the rescue work was finally exposed to the impact of an asteroid," Lyson said.
